Software Engineer

Dexter Fernandez

I'm a software engineer who builds the tools businesses use every day: automations, data systems, websites, and mobile and desktop apps. My computer engineering background means I'm comfortable when a project has to connect to a database, a camera or other hardware. Tell me what you need and I'll tell you how I'd build it.

Services

What I can build for you

Workflow automation

Scheduled n8n workflows that pull data from an API or a website and send it to Google Sheets or a database such as PostgreSQL, with health checks so bad results don't get saved.

Data collection tools

Scrapers and pipelines that collect, filter, score and export data, such as brands to review. See my Meta ads research tool below.

AI features

Add AI to your system through language-model APIs, such as automated recommendations based on your data.

Websites

Responsive websites for businesses and events, deployed to Vercel and connected to a domain you own.

Mobile app MVPs

Flutter apps for Android and iOS, including QR scanning, camera features and offline use, built as a first version you can test. I build and test both versions. I can hand over Android builds directly; putting an iOS app on your phone or the App Store goes through your own Apple Developer account.

Desktop and database systems

Windows apps in Visual Basic or C# connected to SQL Server or Oracle.

Experience

Where I've worked

Freelance Software Engineer

KodoGen Security Systems · May 2026 to present

I maintain and extend a Windows HR system for a security agency. The client sends task lists, and I deliver them in batches: database changes, new records and screens, reports, and fixes. I also handled the move from MS Access to SQL Server Express for the whole system.

Full-Stack Developer Intern

Continental Autonomous Mobility, Analysis Center · Oct 2024 to Mar 2025

I joined a team building an internal booking system from scratch. I handled the design, the back end and the database, from the first screens to the Oracle queries behind equipment registration.

We began in C#. In January we switched to Visual Basic because my department head worked in it, so I learned the new language and carried the project through to the end of the internship. The switch taught me to work in the language the team needs and not the one I prefer.

Certification

TESDA · NC II — Computer Systems Servicing

Issued June 2025 · Valid until June 2030
READ CERTIFICATION DETAILS

National Certificate II from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, earned through competency assessment. It covers installing and configuring computer systems, setting up computer networks and servers, and maintaining and repairing computer systems and networks.
